Nintendo announced in its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2020 announced on May 7, that the number of Nintendo Switch units sold increased by 24.0% to 21.03 million units, and the cumulative sales volume reached 55.7 million units. Although the production and shipment of Nintendo Switch and “RingFit Adventure” were delayed in some areas due to the impact of the new coronavirus infection, the impact on business performance was limited.

Also, forecasts that sales of Nintendo Switch will decrease to 19 million units next term.

Regarding this, President Furukawa expects that the impact on the production of Nintendo Switch, which has received the new coronavirus infection, will be resolved by this summer, and the forecast is based on that. In the future, if the impact of the new coronavirus infection will be prolonged, we will correct the prediction and may delay the release of the game title scheduled to be released this year, but at the moment we do not expect a big delay.
